All Pitch Perfect’s training services are modular. You choose which parts are right for you, and we combine them into a package to suit your needs. Our modules are designed to work in harmony, helping you enhance your spoken and written communication skills and achieve your goals.

Public speaking workshop
What’s the secret to effective and engaging presentations? How do you capture and maintain an audience’s attention? How can you improve your own presence and confidence? We cover a range of specific skills and techniques to brighten any presentation. We cover issues such as pace, timing, tone, volume, eye contact, and body language. After these exercises, you should feel able to speak on any topic, clearly and confidently to deliver a sales pitch, describe your research, perform in a job interview, or engage an audience in any context.

Elevator pitch workshop
Can you create an elevator pitch in 30 minutes? That’s not much time, but in the “elevator”, you’ll have even less! Can you make your point in 30 seconds before the other person leaves? Together, we will hone the answers to three questions: 1) Who are you? 2) What do you do? 3) What do you want? You’re not giving a speech; you’re trying to start a conversation. This is your chance to practice pitching in a low-stakes context and get constructive feedback before you go out and raise the stakes in real life.

CV workshop
We begin by explaining some secrets about the recruitment process: who reads your application, what they are looking for, and how to take cues from the job advertisement to catch their eye. We go on to describe some key tools you can use in any job application, to effectively customise your CV and cover letter. At the end of the workshop, your CV and cover letter will be more than just a list of your skills and experience: it will clearly show your potential employer how you are the right person for the role! We encourage you to bring a current or past job advertisement to work with.

CV & cover letter clinic
Are you or your students applying for work or funding? In this one-on-one clinic for each trainee participating in the CV workshop, we support each individual in refining and perfecting their CV and cover letter, either for a job application or a funding proposal. Alternatively, we can work with you in small groups to help you refine your pitches.

Funding proposal modules
Proposal terminology workshop
We create a common understanding of the meaning of the most important proposal terms. We help you understand how to optimise your use of or response to terms according to evaluators’ expectations, equipping you to speak the funding body’s language and maximise your likelihood of success. We tailor the workshop to specific funding schemes upon request, or otherwise use the European Commission’s terminology as a widely applicable example.

Proposal structure workshop
Every funding instrument has different expectations, depending on its priorities. We help you understand what content is expected in each part of the proposal. A well-written proposal must closely follow the structure of the funding call, giving clear and direct responses to all criteria. As experienced grant writers, we help you develop these links and guide you through each section. This can be adapted to individuals or groups. This workshop works well together with the proposal clinic.
